The Student Affairs Resource Case Manager reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Students and works with the Community of Care (COC) team to help students overcome obstacles that stand in the way of personal and academic success at Loyola Marymount University. The Student Affairs Resource Case Manager will facilitate communication among departments, ensuring that all resources of the University are available to students in crisis. Specific responsibilities include providing oversight for cases assigned, maintaining electronic records of meetings and activities, coordinating responses, and preparing reports. The Case Manager will serve as a member of the Student Affairs Dean’s leadership team. Additional duties will include supporting of other Student Affairs Dean’s Office programs.
Typically a Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Higher Education or related field or equivalent experience. Employee will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes and emerging best-practices.
Minimum of 2 years related experience and progressively increasingly responsibility associated with higher education case management. Preferred experience includes knowledge of government regulations pertaining to students, including FERPA, HIPPA, Title IX, Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act; demonstrated sensitivity to the concerns and needs of a diverse student populations.
Minimum 4 years of crisis management, student, training and programming experience in progressively responsible positions. Demonstrated experience as a University judicial officer.
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas associated with case management, organization, planning, decision making, problem solving, strategic thinking and effective use of resources. Must have experience responding to crisis situations.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and other Database systems. Experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems a plus.
