ChildServ seeks a dynamic Foster Care Case Manager for our Chicago Southside location.
Perform case management services for children and families in regular, specialized or home-of-relative foster care programs with an emphasis on meeting the clients’ environmental and psychosocial needs, as well as implementing a permanent living plan for each child.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
place children accepted into foster care in appropriate foster homes
conduct monthly home visits or more frequently as the program requires
provide case management services to children in placement, their parents and/or guardians
arrange and supervise visits between children and their birth parents
transport children as needed for visits with biological parents
prepare, maintain and provide documents and reports of cases and appear and/or testify in court as necessary
complete data entry into client management systems
consult and review cases with supervisor and follow course of action
participate in ongoing training and meet all agency and DCFS requirements
may recruit, study and license foster homes
work effectively with multi-disciplinary team to do what is in the best interest of the child/family
flexibility and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours if needed to carry out job responsibilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Service, Psychology or similar degree from an accredited university.
Must pass all DCFS required examinations and certifications including the DCFS Child Welfare Licensure.
Experience: 0-2 years applicable experience
Other: Valid driver’s license, access to an insured automobile and acceptable driving record.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
Highly organized, flexible, and can handle multiple priorities/projects well; Good time-management skills
Ability to function well in a team environment
Ability to demonstrate project management, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships
Demonstrated problem-solving techniques
Must have a good driving record and willingness to travel. This position requires traveling to different site locations, court and home visiting.
