The applicant will be a senior-level nursing leader with significant experience in Case Management services and national standards of practice.Under the direction of the CNO Interim Leadership Solutions, this position will serve as an Interim Director of Case Management services at assigned Tenet hospitals.This position will be responsible for 4 primary functions: 1.) Functioning as a hospital based interim director of case management services, 2.)leading the implementation Tenet Operating System (TOS) within the case management department, 3.)Education of leadership and staff for implementation and ongoing evaluation of best practices and processes for patient safety, quality and service, and 4.)Assist with onboarding new director.Length of assignment will vary by hospital and usually last 3 â�� 6 months.
The interim director will perform assessments of related functional areas within case management services to evaluate operational throughput, consistency and standardization of processes and procedures.Improvements / standardized processes will be implemented through creation / revision of standard work, procedures and policies as appropriate.Best practices will be implemented through effectively leading and managing change in a complex and demanding environment.Will ensure through a process of ongoing evaluation of standard work implementation that the following areas are examined:
Responsible to provide case management services in compliance with national standards for case management scope of services including:
Utilization Management supporting medical necessity and denial prevention
Accurate and timely Revenue Cycle Management
Transition Management promoting appropriate length of stay, readmission prevention and patient satisfaction
Care Coordination by demonstrating throughput efficiency while assuring care is the right sequence and at appropriate level of care
Compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, TJC accreditation standards and Tenet policy
Education provided to physicians, patients, families and caregivers
Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Identify process breakdowns and inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
Gain consensus on baseline performance with hospital executives, physicians and departmental leaders
Evaluation of current case management staffing and structure
Establish achievable goals with case management staff
Develop and implement action plan(s) with ownership and associated timing of goal measurement
Evaluatestandard work processes implemented and makes adjustments as needed
Ensure transition to hospital ownership of process improvement activities
Monitor metrics trending on regularly occurring basisand work with hospital to identify actions to address stalled or sub-standard performance
Travel required - as travel is required we will run a MVR on the final candidate.
Qualifications: Current RN license and BSN required. A minimum of 7 years Case Management leadership experience in an acute setting required. Accredited Case Manager (ACM) preferred.Multi-site leadership experience preferred.Change and Project management experience; strong analytical skills including use of Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to manipulate and analyze data preferred.Advanced degree in Business, Nursing and/or Health Care Administration preferred.
