Responsible for outreach and administrative aspects of the Counseling and Wellness Services (CWS) under the direction of the Director, Counseling and Wellness Services with the objective of providing the best possible services for CWS. Consistently maintains a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Strong emphasis on student contact via face-to-face and telephone.
Examples of Duties:
Serves as primary point of contact for students (in-person & telephone), in accordance with established policies.
Serves as a liaison between CWS and various contacts, both on campus and off campus community services. Builds strategic relationships with community agencies and on-campus departments to increase student awareness of community and campus resources. Maintains a database of resource referrals.
Assists the Director with planning, conducting, and evaluating outreach programs and services designed to facilitate student development, such as: wellness and mental health awareness programs, yearly plans for CWS events and activities, and works cooperatively with RCSJ's colleagues in developing and implementing quality programs.
Manages referrals into off-campus resources for students needing services other than those provided by RCSJ CWS.
Collects, analyzes, and prepares data on demographics of student utilization of CWS and for other outcome-based purposes.
Answers phone, screens and directs calls, and makes outgoing calls, as needed; oversees the proper dissemination of voicemail messages and management of CWS voicemail greetings.
Schedules Director's appointments and meetings, maintaining monthly Outlook calendar.
Prepares agendas and other materials for duplication and distribution.
Maintains outreach activity calendar/log (i.e. location, length of outreach event, encounters per event) with all materials and promotions.
Represents CWS at internal, external, promotional, or program events supporting CWS work and student-centered focus.
Organizes and prioritizes clerical tasks, establishing a system for follow-up work.
Assists in the preparation and completion of purchase orders, check requests, and facility requests.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Associate degree in Social Work, Psychology or related social service field and/or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related social service field preferred.
Proficient in use of Internet and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Experience in the use of institutional databases, public access sites, and research skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Willingness to work flexible schedule with variable hours and some evenings and weekends.
Sensitivity and understanding of people from all economic, educational and ethnic backgrounds
