Case Manager - Threat Assessment and Management Team

This position provides administrative services for the Stanford Threat Assessment Team.
Oversee a multi-disciplinary committee that examines and assesses concerns brought by Stanford University community members
Conduct initial fact gathering on potential cases
Use judgment to prioritize cases and bringing some to the Team's immediate attention
May oversee office staff, delegate assignments, and supervise all work, assuring highest quality standards
Assess potential cases, writing and making a recommendation to the Team
Draft Stay Away Letters and restraining orders
Engage in regular outreach, education, and training with the University community about the Team's work
Serve as the key contact for the Team within the University
Work with multiple departments and divisions of the University, including the Department of Public Safety
Assist with oversight and implementation of university policies
Counsel and advise the campus community about cases
Facilitate the administrative functioning of the team by:
Schedule, prepare meeting agendas, and take meeting notes
Organize and maintain Threat Assessment and Management Team database and files
Coordinate and organize the annual Threat Assessment and Management team retreat;
Assist with other tasks as needed
Note: Specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on department or program needs without changing the general nature and scope of the job or level of responsibility. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Abilities and skills required:
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, make swift and accurate judgements in forwarding inquiries and results to team members, maintain confidentiality, take initiative, and be flexible and professional at all times
Manage and prioritize heavy case load
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and a good understanding of databases
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Good interpersonal skills and history of collaborative teamwork
Capacity to appropriately respond to emotionally charged situations and remain professional at all times
