What you will do:
Initial and ongoing point of contact to provide all relevant information and documentation regarding work related incidents to Safety, Human Resources, Operations, Risk Management and Legal to minimize claims and control costs
Assist in the determination of compensability, recordability and recordkeeping requirements
Coordinate relevant claim details, implement plan for timely resolution of claims
Review claims with the TPA for causation and possible subrogation opportunities
Advise locations on how to proactively manage claims on the local level (ex: transition to work, liaison with clinics, etc.)
Determine actual time missed from work due to work related injuries and illnesses and provides accurate information record-keeping requirements for the OSHA logs for each location
Participate in quarterly Claims Reviews with the TPA and Insurance Department
Implement new policies and processes related to the program
Analyze incident and liability claims trends and creating targeted intervention actions to prevent future occurrences for specified regions
Provide training programs relating to workers' compensation laws, benefits, policies, and loss control
Coordinate US based health and wellness initiatives
Provide programs to support education, health risk assessments and screenings
Assess the effectiveness of offerings and providing reports to leadership
Collaborate with internal departments including Safety, Human Resources, Operations and Corporate Wellness on Nutrien-wide initiatives
Approximately 10% travel may be required to the Company’s domestic locations
What you will bring:
5 years of Claims Management experience
Registered Nurse (AS or BSN), COHN, COHN-S or Certified Case Manager is preferred
Proven experience facilitating Worker’s Compensation programs in a manufacturing or construction environment in a multistate or national company
Understanding of all current government safety regulations (including OSHA), workers compensation
Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office (with proven Excel skills) required, including experience with EH&S reporting and tracking system
Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail a must; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Ability to work as an effective and contributing member of a team or independently as the need arises
Self–motivated attitude and disciplined with an ability to concurrently deal with multiple projects and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (including a current and valid passport and driver’s license
