The Annenberg School of Journalism seeks and adjunct instructor of public relations to teach PR 568 Crisis Management in Strategic Public Relations for Spring 2024
This semester, we offerÂ thisÂ special version of Crisis Management in Strategic Public RelationsÂ that focuses on the approaches taken by organizations in the entertainment industry (film, TV, music)Â students leave the class able to Assess crisis situations and their implications for communication, Examine crisis management in a systematic, disciplined way, Conduct crisis diagnosis and advanced crisis communicationÂ principles toÂ design a crisis management strategy and plan.Â Â Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate familiarity with all of these concepts as well as how they apply in the specific discipline of entertainment PR.
Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field.Â Previous teaching experience is desirable.Â For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.
The hourly range for this position is $36.37 â $45.46. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidateâs work experience, education/training, key skills, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
USC reserves the âAdjunctâ appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
